If you are looking for a quick and precise charge through a three-stage charging system, a Smart Battery Charger is the option. The bulk charging stage gives full-rated output current to charge the battery to 60% capacity. The battery is charged up to 95% capacity in the absorption stage by reducing the output current as required. The final stage in the charging process, the float stage, provides a low output current to prevent internal discharge of the battery. The Smart Battery Charger can run at an output current of as low as 40 mA, which combats the risk of boiling or overcharging.
These battery chargers are completely automatic, selecting the correct stage of charge by checking the condition of the battery and showing its process via the LED display. A Battery Type Selector is a part of the Smart Battery Charger, and its function swaps between charging a flooded battery or a gel battery. A higher output voltage will be used in the bulk and absorption processes of charging a flooded battery, thus making the Battery Type Selector an essential component for correctly charging a gel battery or flooded battery
